Classic styleA CONSERVATORY STYLE, WITH THE SCENT OF OLD TIMES ELEGANCE
The classical principles universally valid, of antique inspiration, are the safe bet for a clear and harmonious through symmetry interior. What happens if you want to personalize a little bit this rigorously calculated balance?
In a living room of classic proportions, we created a volumetric distortion, a huge reading nook, hidden, that can only be guessed, after a heavy curtain. We went even further: what would be if we kept reason and clarity of a contour generous in dimensions, by giving it a touch of excellency through precious and refined finishing, and in the end, as a last personal note, to scent it with organic shapes and shades of colored dust? What would be if you dared, just like us, together with us?
Here it is how a classic living room looks like, in our opinion. These images serves as an inspiration source, however we can adapt all classic style components, on demand, to any type of space.
The classic style, as indicated by its name, is a style pretty conservative, guarding the elegance of earlier times. Although some might consider it a style unsuitable for our times, the classic style remains a style preferred and appreciated by many, due to its elegance and to the fact that it is a luxurious style.
The characteristics of the classic style in interior design
This style is built around three central elements: symmetry, order and balance. It is used a central element around which the entire room is being decorated. For example, a central point could be a fireplace, to which one could add two identical armchairs to the right and to the left, and above it a decorated mirror. This fundamental trait of the classic style helps us identify it easily. Mainly, a room decorated in the classic style starts with a central point, separating the room in two symmetrical sides, built in mirror.
Another element characteristic for the classic style is represented by the use of columns, reminding us of the Ancient Greece and Rome. Also, straight models, tone-in-tone on the walls or drapes are also a clue to identify the classic style. The materials used are elegant, without being ostentatious. Most of the times, materials such as cotton, velvet or cloth are preferred.
What colors should we use?
The pallet of colors used in the classic style is very often inspired by the nature. A large range of yellow, blue, green, brown, grey or pale pink is typical for this style. White can also be used, but a pale shade. Flooring is in wood, stone or marble.
What should we remember?
The classic style is a style of the conservative elegance, a style that does not impress by ostentatiousness, but through balance and symmetry. The colors are inspired from nature, the flooring are of materials found in nature, and the final aspect is finished.
